NGO Symplefsi organizes, on an annual basis, the crossing of the Aegean Sea during which the team stops on isolated islands. Symplefsi offers donations of supplies and equipment for schools, free diagnostic tests by doctors and nurses of all specialties, infrastructure ( i.e. desalinators, multipurpose courts, playgrounds etc.) as well as other donations related to education, culture, sports and the environment. The ultimate objective of Symplefsis remains, throughout the years, the strengthening and improvement of living conditions for the residents of the remote islands of Greece.
The public benefit non-profit private entity “Neraida Floating Museum” issues two new scholarships for postgraduate degree (Master’s) in the fields of maritime and shipping studies. Among the Museum’s purposes are the funding and organization, within the Museum and elsewhere, of activities and programmes that refer to to the history of Greek shipping, the protection of the marine environment and the attraction of youngsters to professions of the sea.

Neraida Floating Museum, the only floating museum in our country with possibility to travel, returns to one of her regular past destinations, Leonidio, after more than 40 years.

The Neraida remained berthed at the port of Nafplion for 17 days and a closing event was held onboard for the local authorities on Friday, September 12th. Mrs. Henrietta Latsis received the Mayor D. The floating museum will be open for visits at the port of Nafplion from 27 August to 10 September. The visit of the floating museum is organised by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, with the collaboration of the Municipal Organization Sport, Culture, Tourism and Environment Forum of Municipal Nafplio (D.O.P.P.A.T.), Municipality of Nafplion.

The vessel Laurana was built at the Cantieri Navali del Quarnaro shipyards in the Italian Fiume (today Rijeka, Croatia) between the years 1938-1939. After her launch she was used in the coastal line of the Adriatic sea.
Neraida Floating Museum will be berthed at the Flisvos Marina from April 10 to July 20 2014.
